DNS Testing from Australia

DNS checks from the Sydney node query authoritative nameservers directly from AS152900 (Onidel, Equinix SY3) and return the resolved records with query time. Australia has its own anycast DNS infrastructure — Cloudflare operates a 1.1.1.1 node in Sydney, and AWS Route 53 and Google Cloud DNS both maintain APAC anycast nodes in Australia. DNS queries to these providers from the Sydney node should return in under 5 ms. Queries to authoritative servers with no Australian anycast presence will route to Singapore or Japan, adding 85–120 ms to every DNS lookup.

Sydney is the correct test location for validating GeoDNS rules targeting Australian users. The AS152900 prefix is correctly geolocated to Australia in Route 53 geolocation routing, Cloudflare load balancer rules, and major third-party GeoDNS providers.
